The Backyard’s Live Oak Amphitheatre can be a dream on the right night. Its gorgeous stage backdrop of downtown Austin and the hill country can almost distract from first-class talent ranging from Arcade Fire to ZZ Top. A favorite spot for Willie Nelson, the bowl-shaped grassy amphitheater is currently in the process of revamping, with plans to reopen in 2017.
