This all-ages complex of rooms, stages, and bars just north of the UT campus on Guadalupe is a whole night out in itself. Open since 1995, the 350-capacity Ballroom connects to the cafe, its patio, and two outside stages to hold up to 2,000 people. The Ballroom itself, with its boutique red velvet and gold grandeur, has become a home to burlesque, boylesque, karaoke and comedy, DJs, the Austin Mic Exchange for budding MCs, plus the Chronicle’s own Karaoke and Chill pre-Valentine’s Day celebration. The cafe serves food late for post-show munchies.
