![]() In mapping Austin's arts venues, we discovered a handful that don't exist in the physical realm. Some simply don't exist here yet; these include those new cultural facilities we keep hearing about, which are currently in the planning and design stages. But you can get a glimpse of them online -- or at least follow their development by checking in on their organizational Web sites. The other kind of phantom arts venues are those that exist only in cyberspace. In the last few years, visual artists and galleries have taken advantage of the expansiveness of the Web to present material for which they wouldn't have the space or resources to exhibit in a gallery or museum. And the city can boast at least one Net performance piece, the opera honoria in ciberspazio. As with the regular guide, we aren't going to claim this is a definitive resource, but here are some links which will certainly get you started on your tour of virtual venues. -- Robert Faires Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts* (ARTS Center Stage) http://www.artscenterstage.org/ Austin Museum of Art permanent downtown museum* Austin Lyric Opera headquarters* http://www.austinlyricopera.org/ honoria in ciberspazio http://www.cwrl.utexas.edu/~opera/ Jack S.
