| IN*SITU: TONY CONRAD IN FILM AND MUSIC in*situ is a collective of sound and visual artists involved in the exploration and presentation of new media, focusing on integrating alternative film with local music, performance, and visual arts groups. Minimalist Conrad was at ground zero in the New York alternative music/art scene in the 1960s, influencing or performing with John Cale, Lou Reed, La Monte Young, and Philip Glass. Conrad himself performs on the violin with cellist Alexandria Gelencser. A screening of several of his works is also on the bill, including the most uncomfortable film, The Flicker (the soundtrack is described as "piercing"), and recent video works.
