REVENGE OF THE LATINO COMEDY PROJECT brings back the Latino comedy crew that earlier this year had crowds laughing themselves silly at Austin Community College and the Latino showcase at the Big Stinkin' International Improv and Sketch Comedy Festival. Revenge finds this Teatro Humanidad Cansada off-shoot tackling a whole new group of sociopolitical and pop culture targets through such sketches as The Latino Home Shopping Network, Gonzillo, "The Mayan Lecture Series," "Dr. Nimodo," and a spoof of Fifties musicals, Greasers. On stage will be LCP veterans Mical Trejo, Patricia Arredondo, Erica Saenz, and Omar Gallaga, and newcomers Sonya Montoya and Chuy Zarata. The project can be seen at the Capitol City Comedy Club every Monday in July, then at Hyde Park Theatre for the final two weekends of the month. COMEDY NIGHT gives you a super shot of stand-up every Friday. The weekly laugh-fest stars up-and-coming comics, along with humor featured on Russell Simmons' HBO Def Comedy Jam, BET's Comic View, and Showtime at the Apollo. CAPITOL CITY COMEDY CLUB features comedy in a 10-gallon hat; it's the good ol' humor of good ol' boy John Wesley Austin. Sharing the bill is Chris Duel as emcee. Through Jul 5. Thinking man's comic Brian Marlow returns to the Velveeta Room July 3-4
