The Latino Comedy Project will perform at Capitol City Comedy Club Mondays in July.
photograph by Joanne Carreon-ReyesREVENGE OF THE LATINO COMEDY PROJECT brings back the Latino comedy crew that earlier this year had crowds laughing themselves silly at Austin Community College and the Latino showcase at the Big Stinkin' International Improv and Sketch Comedy Festival. Revenge finds this Teatro Humanidad Cansada off-shoot tackling a whole new group of sociopolitical and pop culture targets through such sketches as The Latino Home Shopping Network, Gonzillo, "The Mayan Lecture Series," "Dr. Nimodo," and a spoof of Fifties musicals, Greasers. On stage will be LCP veterans Mical Trejo, Patricia Arredondo, Erica Saenz, and Omar Gallaga, and newcomers Sonya Montoya and Chuy Zarata. The project can be seen at the Capitol City Comedy Club every Monday in July, then at Hyde Park Theatre for the final two weekends of the month.
