We hope you enjoyThe Austin Chronicle's Guide to the UT area. The Chronicle's staff of eager cartographers took to the streets to annotate and map over 300 points of interest in the university area for you to explore. We found lots of new joints and reacquainted ourselves with a few old friends. The character of this area, just as the character of all of Austin, continues to evolve -- for good or bad -- with the comings and goings of places we've all grown to love. This entire week's issue is packed with features which attest to these changes. We hope to keep up with these in future updatings of this guide. Also, you can look forward to other guides detailing other areas in town.
Many kudos go out to the UT Guide's staff of wranglers: Kim Mellen and Kate Messer coordinated the efforts of street hustlers Ghislaine Ball, Marty Beard, Kevin Fullerton, Sarah Hepola, Nicole Kleman, Clay Smith, and David Snyder. Artists Laura Jackson (drag maps) and Kenny Braun (photos) added style. Enjoy.
