A FREE VOLUNTEER TRAINING will be offered for listeners and group facilitators who can give a few hours a week to Parents Anonymous. AN ETHNIC AFFAIR, an event for the entire family, will be held on the Concordia University campus, 3400 N. I-35. The fair is a celebration of multi-cultural diversity, and brings an awareness of the variety of cultures in the Austin area. Sat, Jan 25, 10am-4pm. 255-4150.
PROJECT TRANSITIONS' VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION will be held at the Austin State Hospital, 4110 Guadalupe. PT needs volunteers for all three of its programs: Top Drawer Thrift Shop, Doug's House (Central Texas' only AIDS hospice); Roosevelt Gardens (an affordable and supportive living community for individuals and families living with AIDS). A VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION SESSION will be held at Youth Options (formerly Middle Earth), at 3816 S. First St. Youth Options, Inc. is a non-profit organization serving youth and families in Austin with support and shelter. They need GED tutors, mentors for shelter residents and at-risk youth, street outreach assistants, case management helpers, HIV peer educators, and PR, fundraising, and general administrative assistants.
