THE AFRICAN CHILDREN'S CHOIR will come to Austin for two special performances, the first at Covenant Presbyterian Church, and the second at Anderson Mill Baptist Church. The concerts will aid Rwandan children in East Africa. Sat, Nov 25, 7pm and Sun, Nov 26, 6pm. 206/771-4135.

THE ANNUAL MADRIGAL DINNER, featuring their royal majesties King Sebastion and Queen Rosalyn, will be held in the Texas Union Ballroom on the UT campus. Dinner, music, jesters, knights and "royalty," and more will be featured. Tickets range from $16-$24. Nov 29-Dec 2. 475-6630.

THE NEW TEXAS FESTIVAL, Austin's premier vocal arts festival, is seeking professional-level vocal artists with excellent sight-reading skills, a high level of choral training, and a willingness to sing a variety of musical styles, to form a 20-member, resident choral ensemble. This paid vocal ensemble will represent the Festival throughout the year in approximately five performances and serve as the core of a professional chorus during the Festival, held May 18-26, 1996. THE AUSTIN CHAPTER OF THE SPEBQSA, the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, Inc., is assembling their annual Barbershop Holiday Chorus for the 1995 Christmas season. Men are needed to sing 4-part harmony to their favorite Christmas carols. Rehearsals are already underway. 477-SONG.

THE NOONDAY CONCERT SERIES is held every Thursday at the Central Presbyterian Church, Eighth & Brazos Streets. Lunch is served after the performances (12:30pm) for $2.50. Concerts are free and open to the public.
