Wearing a Longhorns t-shirt purchased at the airport, Tony Danza talked on Saturday about his own early experiences at a Catholic parochial school, long before he decided to spend a year teaching high school, an experience he chronicled in his book I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had: My Year as a Rookie Teacher at Northeast High. "I only lasted until 6th grade, and then they asked me to leave." The nuns asked his little brother to go, too, even though he was a model student; their thinking, Danza joked, was "'Let's purge the system now.'"
