Let the Blood Run + Black Burning Skies (Spora Recordz)

Wrapped in a gorgeous gatefold cover, this double-vinyl treat packaging Headcrusher's first LP Let the Blood Run with new EP Black Burning Skies scorches with naked ferocity. The Colombia-to-Austin quintet's flesh-ripping deathcore weaves subtle strains of melody into its moshpit bait. Axemen David Coloma and Carlos Ramirez don't hide their thrashaholicism, letting the riffs sing as much as slash. Vanguard Gustavo Valderrama forgoes understatement; his feral screaming would scare a psychotic werewolf. Spin "Winds of Disease" or "Prisoner Machine" for the kind of savage kicks that come only from indulging in unbridled brutality. (Headcrusher clamps the vice Saturday night at the Lost Well.)
