There Is a New Crú in Town

Wine & Food Foundation of Texas opens new chapter for young wine lovers
Margaret Shugart, 9:30am, Mon. Apr. 29, 2013

If you’re 21-35-ish years old and you have a passion for wine, cocktails, beer, coffee and/or food (is anyone not on board here?) The Wine and Food Foundation of Texas is tailoring a new level of membership for you.

The new offering is designed to promote appreciation and education with monthly happy hours and exclusive events like craft cocktail classes, brewery tap rooms tours, private audiences with Texas winemakers, coffee tastings, and pairing dinners. The group is called The Crú and the Premiere Cru invitational kickoff party is this Thursday (information below). It is $5 to get in and enjoy offerings from Peached Tortilla and Chi’lantro food trucks with wine pairings provided by Twin Liquors and Fall Creek Vineyards. For guests who choose to join, that $5 goes towards the $55 annual membership dues. Membership provides a member and a friend access to all Crú events, as well as general Wine and Food Foundation happenings throughout the year.

To meet the Crú and try some unique wine and food pairings, come to CTC Gardens (1102 E Cesar Chavez St.) from 6-8pm this Thursday, May 2. Pre-registration through the website is recommended; the event tops off at 150 people.
