The nonprofit organization, Texas Organic Farmers and Gardener Association (TOFGA), provides a wealth of education and insight into the world of organic and sustainable agriculture.
Comprised of farmers, consumers, gardeners, and other links in the sustainable food chain, TOFGA is gearing up for their annual conference February 7-10 in Austin.
The event features a smorgasbord of panels featuring experts discussing organics, sustainability, and business-related topics in the world of green agriculture. In addition to an organic banquet with keynote speaker, Jim Hightower, (a Chronicle columnist, of course), a few highlights include Brenton Johnson’s panel on Small Farm Irrigation, Transfarming: Turning Backyards in to Farmyards by Arturo Arredondo of AquaponicAustin, and an Urban Farm Tour Brunch. Happy Hours and screenings also pepper the fascinating program.
One lucky Austin Chronicle reader will win a TOFGA conference badge simply by entering our giveaway here.
