Hungry Todd Rungy Hosts Slice-Slamming Contest This Weekend

Tell you what: Somebody at Little Woodrow'ssomebody out there at the Southpark Meadows location, especially – knows how to leverage the ol' cultural synergy.

Because if you're a popular watering hole and you're going to have a food-eating contest on the Fourth of July … if you're going to follow your famous Turtle Races that night with a competition to see who can most quickly eat a huge slice of pizza from the Brooklyn Pie Co. right next door … well, who better to have hosting and judging the event than that celebrated superpatriot & thickly bearded eating machine, Austin's own Hungry Todd Rungy?

(Answer: no one better.)

Listen: "The competition will be limited to 10 participants, each challenged to finish a mammoth Brooklyn slice of pizza as quickly as possible. The first competitor able to open his or her mouth, wiggle the tongue and demonstrate that the full slice has been swallowed will win Little Woodrow's merchandise and gift cards. Regurgitation is grounds for disqualification."

(Holy Patrick Henry, citizen – is that patriotic, or what?!)

It'll be something to see, for sure, even if you're not part of the battle itself. So, remember, this star-spangled gastronomic conflagration will take place at Little Woodrow's Southpark Meadows location, not the one on West Sixth or Parmer, capisce?
