Perhaps UT's new fragrances will conjure miracles next fall

Now you, too, can smell like a Longhorn! Street clothes in burnt orange are apparently insufficient for today's Longhorn fans to express their ardor. The University of Texas has recently released men's and women's fragrances, named, respectively – wait for it – University of Texas Men's Cologne and University of Texas Women's Perfume.

Fans and alumni alike are invited to "capture the spirited passion of the Hook ‘em Horns, the dramatic beauty of the UT Tower bathed in burnt orange and the immense devotion to the Longhorns spirit. Passionate, triumphant, and strong." Masik Collegiate Fragrances, which formulates and markets fragrances for more than 21 colleges across the country, describes the UT Women's Perfume as opening "with a sparkling top note of bergamot, and ruby redcurrant. The heart of the fragrance is an addictive floral blend of orange blossom, mimosa and jasmine. Aromatic patchouli, creamy vanilla and musks round out the background ensuring a long lasting fragrant appeal." For men, Masik "captures the passion of burnt orange-clad fans, as they make the 'Hook em Horns' gesture. The energizing spirit of pimento berry and rosemary blends with masculine strength of soft woods and golden amber. A unique aged bourbon accord enhances the overall appeal." It sounds more like a craft cocktail, but who cares? Any gentlemen who evokes pimento berry from his shirt collar sounds worth checking out to us. Both the men's and women's versions sell for $39.50 for 1.7 oz. Buy online here.
