Ah, New Year's Eve — so many parties, and not enough time to cover them all. Take a look at a few The Gay Place has rounded up. Whichever you choose, be smart, be safe, and be fabulous!

FPH NYE with Girl Talk, Big Freedia, and George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic

Can you say, "Last minute road trip?!" The people who bring you the Free Press Summer Festival are bringing the bounce, the funk, and the fun with an outdoor music party in Houston’s recently restored Sam Houston Park. The live-music lineup features 13 acts, two stages, an interactive light show, art, vendors, food, and more. Doors open at 4pm, and the good times roll well into 2014. Tickets start at $50; more for special/VIP packages.


The Final New Year’s Eve at Cheer Up Charlie’s

Queer Austin’s East Sixth-Street gem may be closing, but the party is far from over. Headlined by indie electro-dreampop outfit Letting Up Despite Great Faults, the roster includes local acts from Dana Falconberry to Gretchen Phillips' Disco Plague, It's Infectious! to the Sour Notes. Doors open at 7pm, with giveaways between sets. Presale tickets are $5; $7 at the door.


A*Fab Austin’s New Year’s Eve Gala

Philanthropy and festivities come together at A*Fab Austin’s third annual New Year’s Eve shindig at the Hyatt Regency. The group, which provides financial support to nonprofit service providers that serve the LGBTQ community, will be showcasing the music of Hedda Layne, The Atlantics, and Ginger Leigh. There will also be dancing, dessert, cocktails, champagne toast, and a breakfast buffet. Starts at 8pm. Tickets are $135, and goes toward a good cause: ours.


New Year’s Eve Party at Hotel San Jose

Drinks, dancing, and revelry at the Hotel San Jose. The festivities start at 8pm and run well into the new year. Free.


Kubla Khan: New Year’s Eve at Justine’s 2014

The folks at Justine’s Brasserie are transforming 4710 E. Fifth into an Asian-themed den of iniquity, with the help of installation artists Douglas Little and Emily Hughes. Firecrackers, fortune cookies, Butoh dancers, a Chinese Dragon dance troupe, a drag performance, and a Shanghai/Parisian menu that will make your mouth water. Tickets are $175 and includes dinner, a champagne midnight toast, and free-flowing champagne from the new year until closing.


Lone Star Bears New Year’s Eve 2014 Celebration

Bears, cubs, otters, wolves, chubs, daddies, and their admirers gather together to ring in the new year with tunes from DJ Todd. Champagne toast at midnight and a menagerie of masculinity all night. Free.


New Year’s Eve at TuezGayz

Gay staple theGlitoris reinvented Austin's Tuesdays for gays. And this year, Tuezgays at Barbarella falls on New Year’s Eve. To celebrate, TuezGayz is offering two parties for the price of one and includes entry to B the Beat at Swan Dive. Use the back porch to hop between the two all night, or until you’re worn out. Tickets are $10 at the door and includes a free toast at midnight.


Elysium’s Black & White New Year’s Eve Ball

Elysium rings in 2014 with a black-and-white themed celebration, featuring tunes spun by the club’s roster of DJs. Tickets are $3 if you’re dressed in black in white, $5 if you aren’t.
