So What by nyscof | hide/show
None of this has anything to do with tooth decay reduction. Tooth decay is a growing US problem along with fluoride overdose symptoms.Americans are dying from the consequences of untreated tooth decay. When free dental clinics pop up in fluoridated areas, the people lining up for hours display oral health that mirrors that of third world countries.Science tells us that fluoride ingestion does not reduce tooth decay. The John Birch Society's opinion and Dr. Strangelove are irrelevant to the discussionEveryday you can find stories linking fluoridation supporting dentists to rape, theft, murder, and cheating. Yet we don't judge fluoridation based on these criminal dentists. We should only be looking at the science. I'm disappointed this writer spent so much time doing just another "he said 11-25-2009

The Birch Society IS relevant in the sense that, historically, much opposition to fluoridation of water supplies occurred through their propaganda campaigns. If, as nyscof claims, fluoridation does not reduce tooth decay, then one wonders why every professional dental group in the world supports fluoridation and why the incidence of cavities has dramatically declined? 11-25-2009

Fluoridation is a hoax by jwillie6 | hide/show
When the fertilitzer companies, and others, clean their smokestacks, they bag the waste fluoride chemical, ( Hydrofluorosilicic Acid), which contains lead, mercury, arsenic, etc. and sell it to communities to add to our water systems. The Government tries to convince us that it does not harm us if it is diluted enough. It is a hoax on the public. Follow the money!

Those promoting fluoridation simply refuse to read the current research showing it is ineffective and dangerous to health. Go to (www.fluoridealert.org) and read several scientific articles.

Read the letter from Dr. Hardy Limeback ( DDS, PhD Biochemistry) --- Head, Preventive Dentistry, University of Toronto entitled "Why I am now officially opposed to adding fluoride to drinking water"

He was the principal research advisor to the Canadian Dental Asociation for over 10 years in promoting fluoridation. His letter is an apology to other dentists and the public.

Dr. Limeback includes over 140 Research studies, including:

Increased risk of bone cancer -- 13 studies

Lead, arsenic, radium contaminants causing toxic water -- 10 studies

Link with fluoride and other cancer -- 12

Fluoride causes birth defects -- 5

Fluoride affects the immune systems -- 12

Fluoride is neurotoxic (brain, nerves, lowering IQ) -- 11

Etc.

Also see the petition signed by over 2600 professionals opposing fluoridation.

Vit D, Better Nutrition & Dental Care? by nyscof | hide/show
Fluoridation has been promoted with slick PR and appeal to authority with little, if any, valid science. Just as you believe what you have heard, so do those organizations who endorsed fluoridation. Virtually none of them did independent research.

Tooth decay rates declined equally in countries that do and do not fluoridate the water. Vitamin D is an essential nutrient required for healthy teeth and bones. A vitamin D deficiency leads to rickets, a symptom of which is tooth decay. Foods such as milk were vitamin D fortified at the same time fluoridation began in the US.

When fluoridation began in the 1940's, dentists theorized that ingested fluoride was an essential nutrient that the body required to build sound teeth. Modern science has proven that theory wrong. Not only is fluoride not essential or a nutrient, ingesting fluoride delivers no benefits. Fluoride actually hardens tooth enamel from topical application alone. However, swallowing fluoride delivers a host of adverse effects, some of which are listed here: http://www.FluorideAction.Net/health

Today despite 60+ years of water fluoridation reaching 70% on public water supplies and 100% via the food and beverage supply, tooth decay is a national crisis as more kids drink cavity causing sodas (made with fluoridated water) and shun vitamin D enriched milk.

Tooth decay is simply a reflection of diet. As diets decay, so do teeth. And no amount of fluoride can change or fix that.

Fluoridation is just a tool or organized dentistry to give the illusion that they are doing something about the dental health crisis that has occurred o their watch because most dentists refuse Medicaid patients and over 130 million Americans don't have dental insurance. Americans have died from the consequences of untreated tooth decay after being rejected by dozens of dentists for treatment.

Dentists should be mandated to treat everyone, but they would rather mandate all of us eat fluoride instead. It gives them political viability and doesn't hurt their bottom line at all. 11-25-2009

Weston Price Foundation and tooth decay- look it up! Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin D3, Raw Milk and dairy products, pastured butter. Add these things to your diet instead of processed foods and watch your cavities disappear. Sodium Fluoride -aka fertilizer byproduct- is a scam. 12-01-2009

In Kyle, we can't even give our children the water out of the tap because the flouride levels exceed federal limits. (The federal limit is 2.0ppm and Kyle's water has 3.29-3.3ppm) We live in one of two huge subdivisions right next to a flouride-rich well that is one of three sources of water for the city.

We get a letter from the city every year warning us that if we live close to this well, to provide children under nine with an alternate drinking source.

Allowing children who do not have a full set of adult teeth to drink it can cause enamel fluorosis, which can cause mild symptoms such as white mottling or spotting on teeth or more severe symptoms like large brown stains that are impossible to remove without expensive dental procedures such as micro-abrasion or cosmetic veneers. Isn't it nice that my kids can't drink the city water that I still have to pay for!?

Here are some ways to look at the bright side of this: 1) you can use a witty screen name that has nothing to do with your real name (as long as no one else has been witty in that exact way before you), 2) you will have to do this only once, and 3) because everyone must register, you'll be able to keep up with your virtual friends and nemeses.  close
