Cool program! by guest | hide/show
What a great idea! I wish I had this kind of opportunity when I was in high school. Keep up the great work! 10-03-2008

Really making a difference by Sara Weber | hide/show
Thank you for writing about this important project. Very few programs meant to empower youth are able to cut across so many crucial societal issues. As Alice Waters says, "Food and nourishment are right at the point where human rights and the environment intersect." Urban Roots is enabling youth to have influence in a society that may not be protecting the future of their food system, economy, or environment. This program also insures youth's awareness of key issues facing our society like global warming, malnutrition, economic strife, disappearing natural resources, food insecurity, and the pervasive struggle of farmers. I look forward to the dramatic difference this program can make for our youth and our food system. 10-11-2008

We love Urban Roots by Mason Arnold | hide/show
Greenling.com had the opportunity to buy some of the Urban Roots bounty this past summer and even got some press for them in the process. We very much look forward to supporting this program again in the new season. Wish we had a van to give you guys.

You must be registered to comment. What's the upside?
Here are some ways to look at the bright side of this: 1) you can use a witty screen name that has nothing to do with your real name (as long as no one else has been witty in that exact way before you), 2) you will have to do this only once, and 3) because everyone must register, you'll be able to keep up with your virtual friends and nemeses.  close
