Dortch's film astutely captures the emotional land mines people set off when oblivious to the fact that sex is a psychic and emotional experience as much as it is a physical one. Whether it's the woman having an affair with a married man who articulates the terms of the relationship yet behaves like the wronged woman when he returns to his wife or the teenage girl who connects with an older man only to discover that bliss does not automatically come with sex, A Good Day manages to bring to the surface all those confusing, awkward, maddening, and, ultimately, very human choices about sex. While the film may remind you of moments you'd rather forget in your own sexual past, a strong cast and Dortch's fresh perspective keep you watching.
