The narrative shorts here all seem to revolve around a similar theme: momentary, quirky human interactions. "Holidays With Heather" recounts the story of young love birthed in an unlikely situation between Steve and Heather. In nonlinear sequence, director Todd Berger comically illustrates how the pair continues to let their love grow despite a very unfortunate development and the bitter disdain of each other's parents. "Kidney Thieves" is a very amusing, short tale of two kidney thieves who try to steal a man's kidneys but can't because of a mysterious incident. "Nothing to Do With Amy," Woody Allen-esque in its sardonic humor and tragedy, portrays a man with serious behavioral problems, kicking himself for the worst mistake in his miserable life: breaking up with Amy. In "Twenty Minute Prophet," a talented caricaturist has trouble selling his pictures due the pesky problem that his drawings reveal the future of his subjects' next 20 minutes. This one's pretty damn hilarious. "Super Powers" is an adorable six-minute drama in which a couple, trying to spice up their sex life with superhero lingerie, ends up saving the day. – S.R.
