For the Love of Dolly

D: Tai Uhlmann

This could end up being the first documentary used as evidence in a restraining order case. There's a fine line between Dolly Parton superfan and scary stalker. Director Uhlmann ventures deep into creepy territory and sets up cameras. From the gay couple that considers moving into the garage to free more house space for Dolly memorabilia to the woman who chips off a piece of Dolly's childhood home to color-match at Home Depot for her own backyard replica, this movie will probably ruin the songstress' sleep for quite some time. But as one fan explains before she's caught on camera breaking into Parton's assistant's car to search for loose hairs and (shiver) lick the seatbelts, "This is what I want to do with my life. You chose to get married and have children. I'm going to follow Dolly."
