Take the opportunity to purchase some of the bounty of Central Texas farms this Saturday at the Sunset Valley Farmers Market (3200 Jones Rd. at Toney Burger Center), twice recognized as one of the Top 10 markets in the country. They'll be partying to commemorate their 10th anniversary by offering samples of special dishes prepared with local produce by Austin chefs, live music, face-painting, juggling, balloon art, and a moonwalk and giant slide to delight the kids. Saturday, June 9, 9am-1pm. (For more, see our Community Listings, p.74.)

Celebrate the debut issue of Marla Camp's new publication, Edible Austin, and help raise money to support new farmers' workshops presented by the Texas Organic Farmers & Gardners Association at the Farmers Fair on the Whole Foods Market Plaza (Fifth & Lamar). A $10 donation affords you the opportunity to taste delicious dishes made with local food products by Austin restaurant chefs, listen to guest speaker Jim Hightower, and enjoy live music and good company in a festive atmosphere.
