Titus Andronicus
There are few things more precious than sweater-clad Welsh youngsters singing spastic pop songs about the demise of the future. The prolific Los Campesinos! surprised all with the joyful call and response of second LP We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed (Arts & Crafts). All seven pseudo-siblings pluck heart and guitar strings to the tune of pure optimism. Jersey’s Shakespeare-loving indie punks Titus Andronicus open with anthems from debut The Airing of Grievances (XL). – Darcie Stevens

Despite Method of Destruction’s MySpace graphics recycling the Michael Schenker Group logo to perfect effect, Stormtroopers of Death (S.O.D.) local Billy Milano eschews 1980s artifice for a hardcore world-view executed with metallic muscle. Paired with 710 mainstays Superheavygoatass, whose new Arclight disc, Nemesis, pounds 1970s menace, M.O.D.’s mosh-pit bump and grind also bangs heads. Barry Whitesnake opens. – Raoul Hernandez
