Hearts and Minds

Year Released: 1974
Directed By: Peter Davis
(R, 110 min.)

Now more than ever. The time has never been more appropriate for a re-screening of this Oscar-winning documentary about America's involvement in Vietnam. Made at the height of the war, the film interviews U.S. politicians and military brass about the perceived need to save Asia from communism, while also interviewing Vietnamese peasants about their personal losses and the destruction of their homes. Although the movie's anti-war propaganda mission is clear, it nevertheless makes a strong case for asking questions and examining our country's imperialistic motives.
