06/06/04 @ Auditorium on Waller CreekEpistrophy Arts ends its current season with a bang, quite literally, on the long-awaited return of legendary Dutch drummer Han Bennick. A versatile musician who can swing with the best, Bennink is a true iconoclast whose unpredictable use of humor is refreshing. In addition to having played with every European musician of note, he’s gigged and/or recorded with the likes of Eric Dolphy, Cecil Taylor, and Sonny Rollins. Bennick will play a solo set and then will follow it with a set joined by Austin’s European ambassador, saxophonist Alex Coke.
