The Diary of Anne Frank

NR, 180 min. Directed by George Cukor. Starring Millie Perkins, Joseph Schildkraut, Shelley Winters, Richard Beymer, Lou Jacobi, Diane Baker, Ed Wynn.

REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Thu., July 13, 2000

Millie Perkins embarked on a career a bad performances with her debut in this story of an adolescent Jewish girl who hides with her family in Amsterdam during WWII. Shelley Winters, on the other hand, won a best-supporting-actress Oscar for her work in this picture. The Anne Frank saga remains moving, personal, and relavant, no matter how distant we become in time.
