• Celebrate National Bike Month by riding your bike to work this Friday with a delicious pit stop at the Peddler Bike Shop (119 North Loop, 220-6766, www.peddlerbike.com). Students from the Texas Culinary Academy (www.tca.edu) will serve a free breakfast of croissants and smoothies. Friday, May 15, 7-9am.
• Farm-fresh egg lovers may want to consider the fourth annual Free Chicken Seminar this weekend at the Natural Gardener (8648 Old Bee Caves Rd., 288-6113, www.naturalgardeneraustin.com). Local "chickenists" Carol Ann Sayle, Diana Claitor, and Paula Middleton will speak on such topics as flock size, best laying breeds, feed and water, coop design, natural predators, and more. • Belgian beer aficionados are eagerly anticipating the third annual Great Austin Belgian Beer Festival this weekend at Zax Pints & Plates (312 Barton Springs Rd., 481-0100).
