• Members of the Grilled Cheese Society – whose motto is "Bread, Butter, Cheese, Victory!" – will hold the second annual Austin Regional Grilled Cheese Invitational this weekend at the Austin Moose Lodge No. 1735 (2103 E.M. Franklin, 926-0043, www.austinmooselodge.org). Contestants will compete in the following four categories: the Missionary Position, the Kama Sutra, the Honey Pot, and the Lambada. Prizes for first, second, and third places in each category will be decided by audience vote. See more info at www.grilledcheeseinvitational.com/austin. A minimum donation of $5 is required. Saturday, March 14, doors open at 6pm, grilling starts promptly at 7:10pm.

Central Market Westgate (4477 S. Lamar, 899-4300, www.centralmarket.com) celebrates St. Patrick's Day with an Irish-style cookout in front of the store with live music, grilled burgers with Irish cheeses, spinach bratwurst, and Irish brews such as Guinness Stout, Harp Lager, and Smithwick's Ale. Tuesday, March 17, 11am-5pm.

North by Northwest Restaurant & Brewery (10010 Capital of TX Hwy. N., 231-8157, www.nxnwbrew.com) head brewer Ty Phelps will tap a cask of his own Irish stout to pair with chef George Powell's Irish stew and soda bread in honor of St. Patrick's Day. There will be live music on the patio courtesy of Jeremy Steding & the Irish Curse Band. Tuesday, March 17, 6:30-9pm.
