The clubby atmosphere, extensive wine list, and adept, professional service make the local outlet of the national Fleming's chain a popular spot for business entertaining, enjoyable wine dinners, and special-occasion dining alike. Fleming's made a big impression on me: big servings, big flavors, and big prices to match. The appetizer choices are enticing, especially the finger-licking-good New Orleans-style Barbecue Shrimp ($10.95) and the tasty Stuffed Artichokes ($8.95) with a tangy lemon aioli for dipping. Don't get carried away with appetizers, soups, and salads, however, or you'll spoil yourself for the main attraction here, which is perfectly prepared beef. Their smaller rib eye ($30.95) weighs in at 16 oz. It was done exactly the way I like it best – crisp on the outside and warm, pink, and juicy all the way through. Paired with a la carte choices of velvety creamed corn ($6.50) and a rich, spicy macaroni and cheese ($7.50), it was certainly the best steak I've had in recent memory, and it rendered enough food for two meals! Go to Fleming's with a big appetite and an expense account, if you've got one.
