When award-winning barista (espresso bartender) John Dickson bought this four-year-old take-out pizza joint last year, he set about making changes. He's added a full-service coffee bar that's open at 7am for that must-have first espresso of the day and a couple of indoor tables and chairs where customers can savor their coffee. Plans are in the works to add more inside seating and to augment the standard pizza and appetizer menu with more substantial entrée items such as strombolis, calzones, and lasagne. For now, appetizers such as Buffalo wings, pepperoni rolls, fried cheese sticks, salads, and gourmet pizzas are available for takeout and delivery. ZZ's boasts the reputation for the best pizza on the lake, with a delivery area that includes Apache Shores, Steiner Ranch, Hudson's Bend, and River Place.
