If you can't stand the heat, get into this issue

Will Summer 2015 be the threshold that finally delivers us out of the long, hot Texas drought? Or will the weather gods pull a psych-out at the last minute and plunge us back into triple-digit torment? This year's rain sure seems to indicate a cool break. But you know Texas: There's no sense trying to pin it down.
So far, our summer looks sweet, so we're going with it. No matter what the weather brings, this much we can count on: Folks slow down a bit, festivals continue full-steam ahead, the dress is casual, and everyone seems to be making excuses to hold events outside. In fact, at the end of this section, you'll find a two-page calendar that attests to all that.
In this li'l special section, we invite you to look beyond "you," to explore a little deeper within by donning outerwear and costumes outside your comfort zone. We also look into outdoor mania – or a little phenomenon we like to call "hipster glamping."
Throughout this issue, all of the various section editors have gotten in on this summer's fun, with hints about fests, parks, series, and more (beer) to keep you focused on keeping leisure a priority. So put down that stock portfolio (or whatever); unplug that computer. Turn the page, and plan some fun. Enjoy!
