Ringo Deathstarr, Blushing, Soda Lillies, Processions, Sinking

Dreamgaze favors amp-torturing guitars and whispered confessions rather than vocal hooks and forthright sentiment, an aesthetic given wide berth over two nights on Red River. Saturday stars local punkgaze powerhouse Ringo Deathstarr, preceded by equally Austin-bound dream-pop combos Blushing and Soda Lilies, and San Antonio glimmer rockers Processions and Sinking.

    Riff Raff

Houston’s Horst Simco rose to stardom on MTV’s From G’s to Gents and became a caricature behind gold grills, flashy garb, and gaudy tattoos on Neon Icon (2014), Peach Panther (2016), and The White West (2017). The rapper’s cultivated his sheer ridiculousness on Diplo’s Mad Decent label with cheesy club banger “VIP Pass to My Heart” and hedonistic trap on “4 Million.”
