Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick told only half the story of the maritime disaster that befell the Essex whaling ship in 1820. Heart of the Sea reveals the harrowing aftermath, as the ship’s surviving crew is forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, and panic, the men will question their deepest beliefs as their captain searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate(Chris Hemsworth) seeks to bring the great whale down.
