Dave Grohl is having a very busy couple of days.

The Foo Fighters vet screened his directorial debut, Sound City, tonight at the Paramount. The documentary chronicles the storied history of the Van Nuys Studio City recording outfit that's laid down tracks for such artists as Neil Young, Johnny Cash, Nine Inch Nails, and Grohl's career-launching band, Nirvana.

Then, less than 12 hours from now, Grohl will deliver the SXSW Music Keynote address at the Austin Convention Center; he's expected to speak on some of the same issues addressed in his film – namely, preserving the human element amidst the constant push toward all-things-digital.

But wait, there's more! Grohl has corralled an all-star band, the Sound City Players, to play a set at Stubb's tomorrow night. But don't just show up looking to saunter in: SXSW already dispatched tickets to badge holders via a lottery system. Click on the gallery for a teaser of which rock icons may join him onstage.

Sound City screens again Friday, March 15, 1:30pm at Rollins Theatre. Don't like leaving the house? The film's already available via instant streaming for $12.99.
