UT Lineman Kicked Off Team for Posting Slur on Facebook
Mack Brown released Buck Burnette from the team for posting slur about Barack Obama

Until this week, Buck Burnette was a backup center for the Longhorns who nobody but hardcore fans had ever heard of. After Burnette posted an insensitive (to say it nicely) text message he received on his Facebook account after Barack Obama was elected president, he became a national news story. According to Deadspin.com, he posted the following on his Facebook page: "all the hunters gather up, we have a #$%&er in the whitehouse."
Mack Brown reacted swiftly and justly by releasing Burnette from the football team (he's just a second-stringer after all). The sophomore from Wimberley has apologized profusely, and I'm sure sincerely, following the uproar and will hopefully learn from this experience. I know he's learned a lot about the power of the Internet. Just remember the old saying, "Don't say anything you wouldn't want printed on the front page of the newspaper."
For Burnette's apologies, click here for No. 1 and see OrangeBloods.com for the most recent.
