One in a Crowd: 'More than 4 Hours'

Bryan Poyser has something to show you. But he may need to see a doctor and a film crew about it first.

He's looking to start shooting his next short, "More Than 4 Hours" in September. The project follows a teacher who gets his medication embarrassingly mixed up on his first day at work. However, Poyser still needs to raise $7,000 before he can extend his lens, and that's why he's currently fundraising through his Kickstarter page.

If he can hit the target, then he will be reunited with Zach Cregger (NBC's About a Boy and co-founder of The Whitest Kids U'Know.) The pair worked together on Poyser's 2013 SXSW selection Love & Air Sex (back when it was still known as The Bounceback), and actually funded its distribution through a previous Kickstarter campaign.

"More Than 4 Hours" fits Poyser's pattern of alternating his features like Lovers of Hate and Dear Pillow with a quickie emission. As he explains it, that long-short-long schedule "keeps my film making muscles firm so they don't get weak and flaccid in between features."

A constant around Austin's cinema scene (and a Best of Austin winner for his old job as Austin Film Society's director of artist services), we'll leave it to the director himself to make the final pitch. Be warned, Poyser has an endless supply of juvenile puns. But then again, that's part of why we like him.
