One in a Crowd: 'Iris'

Battle stations, people, this is not a drill. There's a local film project with only two days left on its crowdfunding plan, and they need your help to get over the line.

"Iris" is the latest project from Good Idea Fairy Productions. They describe it as "a short film set in a world crossing the boundaries between art and reality, where truth pierces with every brush stroke." Their last shot, "Weird Shit", hit its $1,500 Indiegogo target back in April. Now they're going for the much more ambitious target of $7,000 for "Iris."

Filming is set for the Green Door gallery in Leader, and the Baines House bed and breakfast in Saledo. So far, the film makers have raised about a third of their planned total, and if they hit the mark, then the money will go for shooting expenses (including keeping the crew fed) and festival submission fees.

You can follow the project on Twitter at @Good_Idea_Fairy, or donate to the project via their Indiegogo page. You've only got until Aug 10 to help get them over the finish line, so we won't delay you. Instead of the usual full pitch trailer, here's a little proof on concept, to show their visual style.

One in a Crowd (formerly Kickstart Your Weekend) is a series intended to showcase Texas film and tech projects that are crowdfunding their way to a goal, be it distribution, a prototype, or production costs. If you have a project that we should know about, email us at filmflam@austinchronicle.com.
