The Austin Film Critics Have Spoken

It's officially the list-making time of year.

In between making your grocery lists and itinerary lists and holiday gift lists (subdivided into naughty and nice, naturally), you're also probably subconsciously populating a few year-end lists: restaurants to try, New Year's resolutions you flubbed, movies you've been meaning to catch up on…

It's stressful! The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was on that latter list for me so long that I accidentally watched its sequel before getting around to it.

But here comes the Austin Film Critics Association with the assist. That collective of two-dozen-odd local critics you know and trust – including Chronicle veterans Marjorie Baumgarten, Kimberley Jones, and Marc Savlov – has compiled their official must-watches of 2013 (or, in the case of at least one, 2014, thanks to local release timing), so you can officially cross "make a list of films I need to see" off your master list.
