Watch Castle Hill Come to Life

Andrew Takano strikes again

Remember "Sleepwalking Austin," the time-lapse of Austin's streets and skylines that captivated 30,000 people in May on YouTube? The creator is back.

Andrew Takano, an aerospace engineering graduate student at the University of Texas and the 9-year Austinite behind Highfield Media, dropped a new video called "Start Fresh: Never Give Up" late last week that found its way to the Austin subsection of Reddit this afternoon.

The video tracks eight artists' graffiti in progress at HOPE Outdoor Gallery (aka the graffiti walls at Castle Hill) over the course of the summer and fall of 2013. All of the images are stills, high-res shots Takano has painstakingly stitched back together into a seamless short film showcasing the life cycle of street art.

As of this writing, there were only four comments on the Reddit thread, all of them either praising the work as "dope" or "amazing," exclaiming "wow," or asking to share the link with other communities of interest. We agree all around, so on the third note, we're doing our part. Check it out.
