Feast Upon 'Before Midnight'

By Monica Riese, May 28, 2013, 11:16am, Picture in Picture

In case you hadn't noticed, we're really eating Before Midnight up.

Between the Violet Crown premiere party and the four-and-a-half-star review, you might've thought we were all full on Before Midnight coverage.

Nope. We keep coming back for seconds, thirds, and fourths.

And now you can too. The Alamo Drafthouse announced recently that not only has Before Midnight been named the latest Drafthouse Recommends selection, but Drafthouse Chef Trish Eichelberger and Beverage Director Bill Norris have teamed up to create a four-course feast to fête the film – the third in Richard Linklater's series.

The menu, a Greek-inspired slate (for the film's setting) brought to life with local produce honoring Linklater's Austin roots, includes apricot and pine nut dolmas, a Greek lemon and farm egg soup, rosemary and garlic roasted lamb with tzatziki and feta, and Texas pecan baklava for dessert (which will be available throughout the month of June in all Drafthouse theatres). Each course will be paired with a Greek wine, all for $65.

See what we mean about not being able to get enough?

Drafthouse hosts the Before Midnight feast Wednesday, June 5, at 8pm at the Slaughter Lane location. Tickets for the event are available now. See the Drafthouse website for complete menu and ticketing details.
