Doing 'Wrong' Right

By Monica Riese, March 20, 2013, 12:02pm, Picture in Picture

In advance of his latest feature, Wrong, opening in theatres March 29, director Quentin Dupieux will be in town this weekend for a double feature and a Q&A.

His previous feature, Rubber, premiered at the Alamo Drafthouse's Fantastic Fest in 2010, so it's only fitting that he returns to the Drafthouse for a double feature of Rubber and Wrong. (Enter our contest for a chance to win tickets!)

At the time, Marc Savlov described Rubber as "part post-modern meta-thriller, part audience-baiting, fourth wall obliterator, and chock full o' Scanners-style erupting craniums, Schizopolistic dada panache, and mindfuckery galore." We're all anxious to see how Wrong will top that.

It's not out of the realm of possibility: The synopsis for Wrong involves a "promiscuous pizza delivery girl, a mentally unstable, jogging-addicted neighbor, an opportunistic French-Mexican gardener, an eccentric pet detective, and most mysterious of all, an enigmatic pony-tailed guru." Yep.

You say Wrong; we say oh so right.

The Wrong and Rubber double feature with Quentin Dupieux screens Sunday, March 24, 7pm, at Alamo Drafthouse Village (2700 Anderson); an audience Q&A will follow. For tickets and more information, visit the Drafthouse website.
