Big new from Mondo, the unstoppable local movie-loving art behemoth. After four days of big name poster drops each day of San Diego Comic-Con, they're coming back home with a new The Dark Knight Rises print – one you have a real chance of grabbing.
British designer Olly Moss has become a Mondo regular, and he knocked it out of the park with his Comic-Con exclusive poster for the latest adventures of the world's greatest detective: Cue sad sounds from folks not at SDCC. Luckily, there'll be a new run on sale via Mondo's website and, rather than limit the number of prints, this time Mondo is limiting how long it's on sale.
So, here's the skinny: The print goes on sale at 12:01am Central on Wednesday, July 18, at mondotees.com for $40. Orders will be taken for 24 hours only, and that's it. UPDATE: Mondo just sent out the purchase link, so you may want to bookmark this.
And here's the secret bonus: One lucky customer will get a special "golden ticket" which comes with a specially commissioned Moss print of the subject of their choosing.
Mondo's limited run prints have become infamous for selling out in seconds. That's lead to fan disappointment, and a busy and sometimes price-gougey secondary market (doubt it? Do an ebay search for Mondo some time.) In a press release, Mondo head honcho Justin Ishmael said, "We've listened to feedback about making prints available to everyone who wants one, and we're excited to be able to offer this one time chance with something as highly coveted as an Olly Moss print for Batman. While we won't change the collectible status of Mondo posters, this timed release is something we'd like to offer as a unique and rare opportunity for any fan to own a Mondo print."
