Local illustrator debuts sports comic at The Classical

Austin illustrator Summer Anne Burton’s first love may have been baseball – witness her Every Hall of Famer project, in which she pays tribute to the immortals of Cooperstown – but she throws a curveball in her debut comic “Hit Point.”

Burton, whom we profiled this summer, unveiled the series on the new, nicely pedigreed sports site The Classical. “Hit Point,” which will appear twice monthly, kicks off with an NBA-themed strip and our new favorite portmanteau, “basketballelujah.” Slam dunk, indeed.
