Scream Queens and Head Cheese
Rolling Roadshow slices up 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'
By Richard Whittaker, 3:44PM, Tue. Jun. 7, 2011
Who moved The Texas Chainsaw Massacre house? Formerly on Quick Hill Road near Round Rock, the home of Leatherface and his clan is now the restaurant for the Antlers Hotel in Kingsland. That relocation did not stop the Rolling Roadshow from resurrecting its gory glory days in a special screening with the cast and crew last Saturday.
Listen! To star Marilyn Burns explain how her screaming was her on-set revenge!
Watch! Alamo Drafthouse founder Tim League get deafened in the scream queen contest!
Hold down your lunch! As you find out exactly what Ed Neal (the film's finger-slicing hitchhiker) liked about head cheese!
The show (complete with head cheese eating contest and scream-off) was part of the Rolling Roadshow/Texas Monthly's summer of free screenings of iconic Texas movies at the actual filming location. It continues this weekend with the late Paul Newman's epic turn in Hud at the railroad tracks in Claude. Find out more (and test your knowledge about the best of Texas cinema) here.
