If you weren't at Wednesday's special Feral Cinema screening of Bubba Ho-Tep, complete with an appearance by Joe R. Lansdale, you missed the opportunity to hang out with the man who is the devil and angel of Texas literature (see video from the event here.)

The multi-award winning author (and 2011 World Horror Convention toastmaster) talked about making the Southern Fried horrorfest Bubba Ho-Tep, and the future of the monster-huntin', Elvis-lovin' franchise.

Look for a brief appearance by Stephen Romano, who scripted the TV adaptation of Lansdale's Incident On And Off A Mountain Road and was also the twisted creator of Shock Festival, an alternative reality cinematic history in written and fake trailer form.

By the way, the image for the poster is adapted from work by Lindsay Starr, who did the amazing cover art for the UT Press collection of Lansdale short stories Sanctified and Chicken Fried, available now from all good bookstores. Starr also did the cover work for Joshua Long's recently-released work on Austin's counterculture Weird City, and Alison Macor's history of local cinema Chainsaws, Slackers And Spy Kids.
