Medical bills mount for Austin Justice Coalition designer
By Nina Hernandez, 3:15PM, Tue. Nov. 14, 2017
João Paulo de Mello Connolly, a graphic and web designer for the Austin Justice Coalition, continues recovery this week after an illness sent him to the emergency room, and later the intensive care unit.
Connolly spent time on dialysis, and doctors anticipate a lengthy recuperation period. His family has set up a donation page to help offset some of the medical costs; to date, they’ve raised more than $13,000 of a $50,000 goal. “JP volunteers much of his time and does not have a large income or medical insurance,” reads the page, found here.
