ACCESS News Back on the Air

By Jordan Smith, September 17, 2012, 9:18am, Newsdesk

ACCESS News, the innovative weekly news and entertainment program developed to communicate with Austin's sizable deaf and hard-of-hearing community, is set for its second season on KLRU, beginning this Sunday, Sept. 23.

The show is the brainchild of Dvorah Ben-Moshe and her business partner Ken Hurley, who strive to ensure that Austin's deaf and hard-of-hearing residents have equal access to information and an equal opportunity to engage in civic life.

This season the program, which is now being produced in partnership with Austin Community College, has lined up a number of influential guests – including U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett, Texas Secretary of State Hope Andrade, state Rep. Donna Howard, UT professor and Constitutional scholar Sanford Levinson, and UT journalism professor Robert Jensen, to name a few.

ACCESS News airs Sundays at 1p on KLRU.
