Chaos in Tejas Gets Mobb Deep

No need to 'Drink Away the Pain' at Chaos in Tejas: The celebration of all music underground has announced that NYC's Mobb Deep will be performing hardcore rap milestone The Undisputed in full.

They join a roster that's already crammed with headline calibre acts like UK grindcore innovators Bolt Thrower, neat neat neat punks The Damned, and highly touted post-punkers Iceage.

They're not the only new names on the running order. The Rats, whose lynchpin Fred Cole provides the missing link between between the Sixties garage rock scene and the Sub Pop generation. That will be good news for Grouper: The ambient noise persona of Portland's Liz Harris, who has covered 'Demona' by Cole's other-other-other band Dead Moon, makes her Austin debut. Hardcore crew Left for Dead, whose collected works came out last year through A389 Recordings as Devoid of Everything, reform for a rare appearance. For those softer moments, San Fran singer/songwriter Jessica Pratt will be opening her guitar case.
