Wednesday Rewind

Kat Edmonson brings holiday cheer to the Tonight Show

Lyle Lovett introduced Kat Edmonson to a national audience last Friday night on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The two performed the holiday standard “Baby, It's Cold Outside,” the local jazz diamond perfectly coy to the elder's charming persistence.

The duet will prove to be a defining moment for Edmonson, who also plugged last year's stellar Take to the Sky in a Backstage with Bryan segment. Fast forward to chapter six, around the 35-minute mark.

Watch Out for Rockets “Telepathic War Machine”
In compiling this week’s holidaze compilation, OTR came across this grainy black-and-white video from Watch Out for Rockets (http://www.austinchronicle.com/gyrobase/Issue/review?oid=oid:813706). It’s a pretty intriguing little romp that finds frontman David Jones dolling up as vixen and seducing himself. It was enough to qualify for this list of Eleven Mentally Ill Musicians, though Jones seems like a late addition.
