Here Comes the Pride
Initiating Austin's big week of gay in style

Grrrl, strap on ya heels and strike a pose, because in less than two week's time, it is time to Werk! at Austin Pride's official kickoff.
That’s right, honey, Season Six winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Bianca Del Rio, hosts what is bound to be the most faaaaaaaaabulous fashion show the ATX has ever seen. And, with special guest Margaret Cho rippin' the quips, how could it not be? Join a sweatshop full of Project Runway designers, including fashion prodigy Tieler James and Austin homeboy Daniel Esquivel, in support of local nonprofits Project Transitions, OutYouth, and the Transgender Education Network of Texas on Saturday, Aug. 22 at ACL Live at the Moody Theater.
Doors may open at 7pm, but libations will begin pouring at 6pm sharp. The show starts at 8pm with a Pop-Up Boutique featuring the Ru designers setting up shop on the ACL porch. It's your chance to rub elbows with the best, so don’t be a lush, betch, because nobody wants to buy designer fashion that’s been tainted by vodka. Werk! is the first of a packed week of Austin PRIDE festivities this year – more on this as the date draws near. So, get your tickets in advance, and follow us at The Gay Place to stay on the up and up.
