Chilly? Nothing warms you up like a little dancing-with-myself action in your bedroom. May I recommend these as your soundtrack?
"Hard Out Here" Lily Allen
Allen has a knack at skewering the most vapid parts of our society. On this clever comeback single she attacks the way women are objectified with wit and sass. I'll hold on to my balls though, Lily.
"You're Not the One" Sky Ferreira
If she's out to show the world she is a force to be reckoned with, this is not the song to do it with. In this season inundated with blondes and beats, Sky needs better songs and ballsier lyrical content to stand out. This first single off her debut album Night Time, My Time is a rinky-dink, uninteresting reintroduction.
"Free Your Mind" Cut Copy
Emptying your brain of all the toxic thoughts and hubbub of the world is hard, but Cut Copy help you dance for inspiration on this, their welcome return single. Free your booty and the rest will follow.
"Follow Your Arrow" Kacey Musgraves
Like Ashley Monroe, this refreshingly blunt, golden-voiced gal is another up-and-coming country singer who doesn't sugarcoat the dark side of life. She has no use for shame, and the music on her album is elegant and beautiful. Check her out.
